Hey y’all! Let me start by saying that I do not claim to be a fashionista, by any means. Like everyone else, I like to wear things that make me feel cute, but I always dress with toddlers in mind. I figured that there may be other mamas out there with the same end-goal – keep it casual, comfy, and cute – so I put together three outfits that do just that (at least for me). The best part is, all of the pieces are affordable, which is where I live in this season of life when it comes to clothes for myself.
I’d also like to preface this by saying that, if you follow me on Instagram and watch my stories/highlights for this haul (if not, what are you waiting for???), you know that my kids were living their best lives all through my try-on sesh. With that, if you see toys and tissues and who knows what else in the background, just pretend like you don’t see it… mkay? Here’s the thing – the reality is I have 2 toddlers who are obsessed with being within 2 feet of their mama at all times (which I know that is the case for most of us who have little ones), so they will inevitably be all in the mix when I do things like try-ons. I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Look #1
Cardigan: Oversized chenille cardigan
Shirt: Short-sleeve scoop neck t-shirt
Jeans: Old from New York & Company, but similar here
Shoes: Suede loafers
This is my go-to Fall look, especially early Fall when it’s chilly in the mornings/evening and blazing hot mid-day (we have a lot of these days here in Maryland). This cardigan is SOOOO soft! I could live in it. The shirt is just a basic white T-shirt. I tend to buy a new basic white T-shirt every season because it goes with everything and the crisp new white gives me life (I know, I know… not the most toddler-friendly thing to wear, but this is something I refuse to compromise on (says the woman with a white couch)). These loafers just mold to your feet and are so comfy. I’ve been wearing mine all summer. Yes… suede all summer… that’s how comfy they are. Jeans are older from New York and Company, but you can wear any dark or light jeans with this look and it will look great!
Look # 2
Sweater: Rolled crewneck sweater
Jeans: Light-blue high-waist jeggings
Shoes: Microsuede laser-cut booties
This next outfit is another one of my staples. The sweater is boxy, which gives a cropped feel but is totally full-length is trendy and also comfortable. As you can see, I tend to wear basic classic jeans/jeggings so that I can easily mix and match (with the exception of the pair in the next look, which is totally out-of-the-box for me). Often I tend to throw on tennis-shoes to run my errands on the weekend, but I don’t feel my cutest in tennis-shoes. How to keep it cute? Swap them out for a pair of practical-yet-cute booties that are comfortable to wear all day.
Look #3
Jacket/Cardigan: Textured cardigan
Bodysuit: Black mock-neck bodysuit (they’re sold out of mine in black, but here it is in other colors)
Jeans: Mom jeans
Shoes: Leopard booties
This last outfit is more out-of-the-box for me, but it is also my favorite! I saw this jacket/cardigan in-stores, and I instantly thought of this outfit. Warning, this cardigan is WARM, so it’s perfect for if you will be outdoors (hello pumpkin patch!), and it also is not as soft as it looks like it would be. What I love about it is the sherpa-ish look while still being structured. I went a size up, but would recommend sticking with your normal size to really see the structure and definition. The jeans are way outside of the box for me with all the distressing, but I figured I might as well try out the trend before it’s out and I love them! They’re comfortable, even with no stretch. The boots are my absolute fav and really make this outfit for me. I fell in love with some more expensive leopard boots, but found this more practical look-for-less at Forever 21. The heel is a little on the higher side, but still not too high to wear on errands on the weekend.
Welp, there you have it! My first try-on haul for my favorite season! Do you all like seeing try-ons? Let me know if there are any specific styles you’d like to see!
